key lime pie...
Last night I put the leftovers of a bag of key limes to better use.

And so this was breakfast this morning...

Perfection.

Beaux in progress...

This blanket is taking far less yarn than I expected. I'm halfway through the second (50g!) ball of each color, and I only have two stripes left of each. I'm sure I'll crack into the third ball of each, since the outer stripes get wider and wider, but I'll easily have enough left for a hat, plus two extra balls of each color. Where did my math go wrong, or is this some kind of miracle?

le doudou de Beaux...

It's that time of year when all my friends are pregnant. The circle gets scarily closer and closer each year. More scarily, my response is generally, "Yes! Someone else I can knit tiny things for!" So for starters, I've just gotten my shipment of blue and green yarn for little Beaux, who is due to arrive in just under a month. OK, so it's kind of late to start something, but this one's all planned out, and should be a quick knit: A mitered-stripe blanket in alternating stockinette and reverse stockinette. And (time permitting) a matching hat.

in the jungle...

In my heart I know that plants actually do want to grow. And if you mostly leave them alone, they will get on with it. But I can't help being extremely proud of my mad facilitation skills. Snif...they grow up so fast!

recovery...
It's been a busy past week. Two good friends got hitched (Congrats, Marc & Jessy), and with Paul being best man, me coordinating setup the day-of (which I was totally happy to do, just wasn't expecting to be leading it until last minute), and us having out-of-town guests (Yay!), the Memorial Day weekend filled right up. Awesome times had by all, and I slept not nearly enough! Add to that a busy short-week at work, and lots of social activities with people in town, and I'm pooped. So today is my recovery day. Planted on the couch watching Hornblower. And this is my current project...
