Whew! Christmas in Davidson and the art auction are over. Such fun! We had lots of people stop by, and our end of Main St. was really hopping last night due to an oil spill on I-77. I think a lot of people got tired of sitting in re-routed traffic and just parked and listened to the band and had dinner. The camel at the living nativity and I exchanged pleasantries and he was very interested in eating half of a flyer I was holding. And the baby goats were so cute! And of course, the llamas...although I'm not sure how many llamas made it to the original manger (quite the commute from South America). And my painting even got a few bids! So all was well.
And on another exciting note, one of the furniture stores has a special in their flyer for a little round drop-leaf table and chairs for $69! Solid wood. I'm not sure how that could be possible, but no arguments here. Even if it's not perfect, the price is certainly right. My kitchen is currently housing a folding table because the place where a table should live is a weird size and I've had trouble finding something to fit. I've been scouring thrift and consignment stores, as well as any furniture store I pass, to no avail. So I'm hoping they still have one left when I get there this evening. Crossing my fingers!
